Is it ok to give out more than one Eagle Scout mentor pin? My son can not deside on just one and doesn't want to hurt anyones fellings by just giving out one.

Just make sure you get enough Mentor pins for all your mentors on the forum. :D

I would do that but I won't have enough money to pay for them all at 3.99 each. A lot of people on this forum have helped at many different times and I am greatful to all of you. You all can consider yourself as my mentor without a pin. :D

Without dropping any names so they don't find out, 2 of the 3 are youth in our troop.

In our last three Eagle COHs, none of the mentor pins were given out. :(

I received a mentor pin a few years ago, and it's one item I really cherish.

Can a Scout give a pin to someone post-humously? My son would like to give his mentor pin to my grandmother - his great-grandmother - as a proxy for her husband. Although he died before my son was born, his example of being our family's first Eagle and of earning it at age 14 has been the push that started my son's quest as a Tiger and continues to motivate him. He's even going to request that his BOR be on the same date as his great-grandfather's. WOuld it be too corny or inapproriate to give him the mentor pin?

After this year and what my son did then if that is what your son wants then by all means try to work out the details because if that is what your son wants then YES.

You certainly can give the mentor pin to whomever you wish. To heck with the naysayers who think it's corny. He might want to give a second one to someone he feels mentored him through his scouting career.

When I gave out my mentor pin I totally blindsided the person it was going too. He had no idea it was comming. lol. =) That made it great because the reaction was natural!

My son gave his pin to the pastor of our church. I was thinking the pin was intended for someone that mentored him in scouting. He took it to mean anyone that mentor someone who became an eagle scout. It was his pin to give. He didn't really have a scout/eagle mentor and felt the pastor (outside of his parents) has been there the most for him.
