I have an upcoming board of review for star rank. I do not have a merit badge sash to wear. Is it ok if I don't wear an merit badge sash? I am in the OA should I wear that sash?
Thank You

First, do not wear the OAsash to anything but OA events and OA elections.
The merit badge sash should only be worn to formal events such as Courts of Honor or Eagle BOR. I would not wear one to a BOR for any other rank.
You can get a lot of good information on uniforming here:

You are in the OA. You have had at least 3 boards of review. Did you wear a merit badge sash to them?

Officially the uniform is not required for a BOR. As practical matter each troop sets is own standards for what they require. Fighting that is sometimes like tilting at windmills.

A merit badge sash would be for extra formal occasions, when you are trying to show your best, so to speak. Court of Honors, scout sunday, board of reviews seem to fall under that category. It is not required however. The OA sash is only for OA events.
