[poke mode ]So what kind of stuff will they post? A rolling feed of new eagle scouts? Moment by moment changes to the rules? Secret inner discussions?[/poke mode]

Twitter seems to be more of a medium for moment to moment stuff.

Just started a week ago. Time will tell how much it is used. For example today there was a post about the new form for Alternative MBs for Eagle that is coming out. Also this can be used to get answers to FAQs. Just like the Advancement Newsletter, it's another method of the National folks are trying to get info out to the units. My guess is that you'll also see stuff like when new MBs are released.

Plus National are the ones answering the tweets so you will get official interpretations vice the ones people make up (present company excluded :) )

Is the advancement news letter actually available to the units? Is it on the scouting web site somewhere? I only heard it referred to by people on advancement committees.

I am all for improved communications BTW. I do not mean to have sounded critical.

In addition to what Matt wrote about subscribing, the Advancement Newsletters, which started in October 20111, are archived at: http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/Gui ... _News.aspx (The archive is missing the December 2011 and January 2012 issues, however.)
