If want to get some hill training, I would suggest the Allegheny National Forest in north-west PA. We camped there two weeks ago. Great trail system
http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/forests/allegheny/Finally, Laurel Caverns Geological Park is 50 miles S.E. of Pittsburgh and has specific programs for Boy Scouts (with certified MB counselors, and rangers certified in Climb On Safely). Heading there the first weekend of Nov. Boys will be working on Geology, Climbing, Forestry MBs.
