Eagle DAD Pin - Worn on Field Uniform Shirt

Postby Billiken » Fri Nov 14, 2008 1:53 pm

I noticed that our district commissioner, an Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver holder, wears two Eagle DAD pins on his uniform shirt, just above his 3 rows of square knots.

What would we need to do to get Nat'l to have the wearing of Eagle DAD, MOM. and/or MENTOR pins on uniform shirts officially sanctioned via the Uniform Guide?

I believe requests for changes to the Insignia Guide go through the Program Group at National although they have done some reorganization so I'm not 100% sure. Your SE should be able to help get the current POC and they should be able to tell you when and if this has been reviewed before and if your request would be DOA or not and why.

No it would have to be the "Sheepshank" which is the coolest name for any knot. :D

Check out this document: www.crowl.org/George/PrivateIssue/Illus ... Knots5.doc.

There is an 'Eagle Lineage' knot shown. This 'knot' is a private issue by Bedford Massachusetts Troop 194, for Adult Eagles whos sons are also Eagles.

I've been unable to find contact information for Troop 194, but I would like to get something like this when my son gets his eagle. Even better, a generations knot that shows my son as the 3rd generation of Eagles.

An Eagle parent or grandparent knot would be great.
