Just came back from an outing at a local camp where our Alumni from our troop were having a reunion. Our troop had one single scoutmaster from 1938 - 1990, and these guys come together every other year to remember him and fellowship.
I've been writing music for about 1.5 years now and decided to create an album for the alumni. It had the scouts in our troop singing old camping songs, and 3 songs I'd written myself.
One of the songs on the album (and another that I wrote for Cub Scouts) were filled with scouting lyrics so I knew I couldn't copyright them. I contacted the BSA and they are in process of copyrighting them, and have given me permission to post them on a website, if I wish, as long as the songs and their use, packaging, etc. uphold scouting ideals.
I think you guys would like them. (I'm not selling them to the general public right now, but you can listen to the 4 scouting songs I've written and our Troop Fight Song up on our website in a player:http://www.troopole97.com
Or you can listen to them and download some of them at my SoundClick site:http://www.soundclick.com/legaleagles
But I'd like to know what the scouting community at large thinks about those 4 songs...
I'm thinking of offering them for a download donation (I'd donate to the troop - not a 'fundraiser' but a contribution...)
So, give 'em a listen when you get a chance, and let me know what you think...
