Camp Songs

Postby biglou » Wed Jan 07, 2009 1:57 pm

I was going to post this at 0430 this AM (I worked midnites). I could not remember mine until 1230 this afternoon. Plus I cannot sleep! Just curious about different Camp songs and if you would like to share post 'em.

Camp Mountain Run Song

You take a land, full of whispering pines,
rocky coasts and folks
who are mighty might fine,
blend them in with boys of Scoutings Aims
and you'll all go on to greater fame!

Camp Mountain Run, Land of Golden Dreams,
hiking trails, and crystal mountain streams,
pledged to scouting spirits bold and true,
So let us stand and take our oath anew!

On my honor, I will do my best,
duty bound to see that Scouting Spirits' blessed
every boy no matter where he be
as we go on for God and our Country!

I could not get the middle part this morning! it came to me like a lead balloon this afternoon!

Thats a good idea!

Im sure everyone has heard of the Scouting Vespers.

"Softly falls the light of day
as our campfire fades away

Silently each scout shall ask
have I done my daily task

Have I kept my honor bright
can i guiltless sleep tonight

Have I done and Have I dared
everything to Be Prepared."

We always sing this at the end of each campfire at events. We then humm the song again.

I like it!

FINALLY!!!!! Thank you for posting.

I thought that I was the only one that was going to post something here. I was looking for lyrics for different Camp Songs. I know that Conestoga had a cool song. Can't remember the words but I remember the tune. I also liked the one from Camp Berry, Ohio.

I have books full of songs we often sing at camp. It would take days for me to post all the songs we sing here.

I had avoided posting them all because it looked like you were looking for songs from/about specific camps.

You are correct. Just looking for different lyrics to specific camp songs. I was not looking for different songs sung at Camp.

High abover the shining waters
On a hill side green
Conestoga Scouting emblem of a boyhood dream
From each summer to each comer hails this welcome call
Hail to Thee our Conestoga loyal one and all.
