Postby t305spl » Fri May 27, 2005 5:28 pm

Which famous people attended the 2001 Jamboree and which famous people are likely to show at this one? Just would like to know.

I think if you click around the Jamboree site you will find a few.
The President didn't make it, but sent a real nice video.
I think I remember seeing an article about a couple of astronauts. The Pope sent over a special envoy from the Vatican and a few Swiss Guards. That was the most rain I ever seen at a mass!! I thought he had send Saint Medard!!
Legend says that when he was a child, Medard was once sheltered from the rain by a hovering eagle. This is his most common depiction in art, and led to his patronage of good weather, against bad weather, for people who work the fields, etc. Legend has it that if it rains on his feast day, the next 40 days will be wet; if the weather is good, the next 40 will be fine as well. He was also depicted as laughing aloud with his mouth wide open; this led to his patronage against toothache.
But his feast day is on the 8th of June.
Still there is a lot to be said for a laughing saint.

Wow!!
I really didn't take a lot of notice who they were and have to admit to thinking that they were all dead.
See what happens when I start thinking.
