Also Cleveland Hopkins - 300 miles / 5 hours. Cleveland is a United Hub, and is served by Southwest, too. Plenty of places to sight-see in Cleveland, including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Plus the Pro Football Hall of fame is in Canton, ajacent to I-77 which is the route from Cleveland to the Summit.

Washington Dulles is still only five hours away, so troops can still do the DC visit if they wish.

Went on a bike trip in Charleston in 08. Several people on the tour flew in and out of there, didn't have anything bad to say about it. For what it's worth.

Anyone considering doing the 1/2 time staffing. You will only be doing helper type stuff if you are in any area that requires specialized training.

Come on - Yeager Airport 1.13 hours 63 miles
(following the easy route - I can cut at least 10 min off that if 2 lane curvy roads don't bother you)

I fly in and out of Yeager all the time and have to say that I have had more problems at the other airports (including the 2 you mention). I would have no problem recommending it to anyone. Last year they had a big banner welcoming the SummitCorp attendees and I know that some of them arrived there.

You won't find it to have as many flight options as some of the others but don't rule it out. Yeager is not a hub for anyone (but is Pittburgh now? Not USAir anymore.) but is served by USAirways, United, and Delta regional carriers among others. Flight costs are unpredictable and you will sometimes find it is the same cost to fly into Yeager/Charleston as some larger airports.

Having said that - the drive from both Pittsburgh and Charlotte can be extremely beautiful. The last part of the drive from Charleston is too, but you don't get the hours of it that you can from the other two.

Need to make some updates. Last weekend was at SBR thak goodness we got out before the snow came. The site is looking better and better. The Climbing Venue at the rocks should be finished by December and they can move on to Bouldering COve in Summit Center. Staff is in great need in all areas. There will be limited transportation to work areas that are over a 45 minute walk. So they will get us to within that 45 minute walk. I can live with that as it was going to be over an hour an a half before. NO TRANSPORTATION FOR ANYONE ELSE. All program areas will be reducing program due to staffing. We are being creative though so as to allow the most thru put we can. Leaders that want to help are more then welcome to do so. IE put harness's on Police Bouldering etc.
The Duffel is excellent and you can put a lot of stuff in a 115 liter bag. No Staff Hats or neckerchiefs will be provided you want one you pay. The Duffel took all the Money. The Duffel is made by Osprey.

Some Shakedown Thoughts the food was excellent, there were some problems that have been addressed.

I will be at the Buckskin Games which will be part of the Jamboree Trek, my understanding is the "trek" ends with a BBQ dinner and Campfire, does anyone know who will be responsible for the Campfire Program?

I had been told there was a central group putting on all the Campfires, does anyone know who to contact?

Do we know the name of the group putting on the Campfire program or are you saying the Campfire program has been scrapped as well as the BBQ?
