So will the BSA see any money coming from the Federal Government for facility improvements that have been done at AP Hill?

I think this will definitely be hard to find. A site big enough for Jamboree that will come anywhere close to providing items needed for the vast amount of activities that take place at a Jamboree. I understand Jamborees have been held other places before, but did they have the same types of activities and the amount of activities as there was in 2005?

I understand you aren't going to have the answers :D but just questions to throw out there :D

Hope to see you in 2010!

Yes the Govt is helping plus BSA has identified around 12 sites already so they are in the process. ALso for instance the Action Center facilities were built by the Army as they use them when we do not. The Rappell Tower and the two action ally confidence course are all Govt built. All the Infastructure ie electric ete was govt.

I'd like to see the National Jamborees moved more toward the center of the country. Definitely less expensive (could purchase a dedicated site), plus the participation would likely be higher for those west of the Mississippi.

Wow, by the time of the '14 jambo, I'll have graduated from college. nPerhaps I might be staff at that point (assuming I hadn't yet started a job?) 8)

TRoops go as visitors Troops do not attend. Attending with the council contingent is an individual activity. Noqw that being all said I truly belive visitation may be limited in 2010 at least anyone on staff the last time is hopeing

Postby Billiken » Tue Jan 22, 2008 12:19 pm

I received my formal/written notice two weeks ago that I have been selected as an Assistant Scoutmaster for one of the four Greater Cleveland Council 2010 Nat'l Jamboree Troops.

I guess I'll see everying in VA, if not sooner. :D

Well....not that it motivated me, but I understand why.

Me...I am out of shape, but decided that I needed to eat healthier and get my blood pressure taken care of.

In the past month, I have lost nearly 15 pounds and with medication, my blood pressure has gone from 143/103 to an average of 109/82.

I kept using the excuse I am so busy I don't have time to slow down. Finally went to doctor and he said either slow down or God will do it for you.

I have heard the same thing. They will be looking at this as the last Jamboree had way too many medical issues.
