Some climbing thoughts

Postby wagionvigil » Sat Aug 24, 2013 7:51 am

Just a word of caution when going climbing with an outfitter or someone outside of a scout camp. Start asking to see their credentials. The old well we have been offering this for years and we are ok is no longer ok. Ask for their AMGA cards or BSA level II for the person in charge or BSA LEVEL I for the instructors. Remember Fire rescue and military are not on the approved list. Just a word to the wise.

At the jamboree all the managers had their creds in their pockets. The state required this.

The North East Ga council has what is essentially a climbing camp at the ranger base. This is the same base where Army Rangers are trained. It is staffed mostly by ranger instructors. I am in no way connected with it, but I hear it is a great experience.
