And Now For Something Completely Different

Here's a campfire skit you likely haven't seen before.

Gather a number of half dollar coin boxes, the cardboard ones banks receive rolls of halves in. The standard is $500 face per box. The box will be printed on the outside with the denomination (halves) and the value ($500).

Then add a single box that contained cents. This would be a $25 face value box.

The Scouts announce that they are going to create the most expensive campfire ever, and start tossing in the halves boxes one at a time while counting aloud the value: "$500. $1,000. $1,500. etc

When you reach the limit on the halves boxes - however many you have to add to the blaze - one Scout runs in with the obligatory "Wait! Wait! Wait!" line and proceeds to toss in the cents box. The original pyros feign outrage and ask him why he would do such a thing, after all, that was a penny box and they were adding halves.

The latecomer delivers the punchline:

"I thought this skit needed a small change."

Yeah, it's a groaner but it was nevertheless well received at the camporee campfire this evening.

The hardest part will be explaining to the bank why you need all the empty coin boxes.
Boys can save lives when Scouting first saves them.
