Mike I understand your argument, I just do not buy it. A tandem is a bicycle. By definition two riders are allowed on a tandem. By talking to the other rider, the councilor would know if the scout "pulled his weight" and met the requirement. To be honest, I would not automatically except the use of the tandem, it would involve some discussion, and I would expect the requirements to be fully met. Which by my reading of the requirements some of which can be done on a tandem. Although a MBC is bound by the requirements, the job is a lot more than checking off a work sheet. But I do not assume that my scouts are trying to find loop holes every time they come up with a non standard idea either

MRW: I have ridden a high wheeler. An unusual experience. Riding an century on one is impressive.

Your average merit badge clinic and summer camp bend the requirements a whole lot more the allowing or not allowing a tandem does.

Okay folks; this can has been kicked back-and-forth more than enough.

Let's agree to disagree (once and for all) and let it go at that.

Thank you.

P.S. Excellent thread, BTW.

You mean cooking a dead horse counts?
